Rodenstock Lenses at Monocle

Your vision is only as good as your lenses. We understand that, and so does Rodenstock.

Winning over 50 awards and holding over 500 patents, Rodenstock knows how to make lenses! Founded in 1877, this German-based lens company has been at the leading edge of lens technology ever since.

They strive for optical perfection, paying attention to every detail possible to produce lenses yielding the clearest vision you never knew existed. Single vision lenses with pinpoint accuracy across the entire lens, multifocals that are effortless to use, and the cleanest anti-reflective coatings - these are the reasons we use Rodenstock as our primary lens supplier.

Come see us at Monocle Optometry and let us show you what you’ve been missing!

Meet The Impressionist

Your lenses are only as good as the measurements taken. Every lens we order is manufactured at the Rodenstock lab in Germany based on the individual measurements we take with you in store, because every face and frame are unique! Without these measurements, you’re simply not getting the clearest vision from your lenses.

To make this process as precise as possible, we utilize Rodenstock’s computerized measuring system, the Impressionist - a mirror cleverly concealing multiple cameras which calculate to an accuracy of 0.1mm. This reveals the precise points of the frame in relation to your eyes in 3D space to create the perfect pair of glasses.

Gone are the days of putting dots on lenses with markers...

But wait - it gets better! Rodenstock outdid themselves in 2020 by going one step further and incorporating your individual eye anatomy into your lenses.

While this may sound fictitious, we assure you it’s not. Using their DNEye scanner (see this blog), we can now measure about 7000 data points across your eye and integrate each point into your lenses.

This is something that has never before been done in the world of optics and it truly puts meaning to the term tailor-made. As Rodenstock puts it, they’re creating “the most precise lenses in the world”.  As both customers and retailers, we believe every word of that statement.
